Hatchlings use light to find their way to the water. Artificial lighting causes them to head away from the ocean – this results in unrecoverable exhaustion & death. Lights that can be seen from the beach must be turned off during sea turtle season. No flashlights on the beach. No flash photography with cameras or cell-phones of sea turtles.
