Special Needs Program

Palm Beach County has a Special Needs Program in place to assist those residents with certain serious medical problems during a major emergency.  This program provides a Special Needs Shelter that has medical supervision, auxiliary power, it is wind resistant and it is not flood prone.  Please be aware that space is limited and prioritization is based on need.

Residents may also pick up information or an application from the Highland Beach Police Department or may call the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management directly at (561) 721-6400.
